According to Charaka Samhita, cow’s milk has ten properties: svadu (sweet), sheetha (cold), mridu (soft), snigdha (unctuous), bahula (dense), shlekshana (smooth), pichchila (viscous), guru (heavy), manda (slow) and prasanna (pleasing).
